A presentation of the books On the Road to the First Republic and Diplomacy Amid the Roar of Cannons, authored by public and political figure and Doctor of Historical Sciences Hasan Hasanov, was held on October 8 at the Baku Book Center. In On the Road to the First Republic, the author describes the path to independence and the process of establishing the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic - the first democratic republic in the history of Azerbaijan and the entire Muslim world. In his interpretation of various historical events, Hasan Hasanov employs original and unexpected approaches. The book Diplomacy Amid the Roar of Cannons is based on the author’s personal diplomatic experience and recollections from his tenure as the first permanent representative of independent Azerbaijan to the United Nations. It sheds light on complex behind-the-scenes processes, the challenges involved in establishing the country’s first national mission to the UN, and the details of drafting, negotiating, and adopting the first four statements and resolutions of the UN Security Council concerning the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. The books presented are intended for professional historians, political scientists, and young diplomats, as well as a broad readership interested in the recent history of Azerbaijan.
