The Baku Book Center hosted the launch of the third edition of the book Yoga and Health and a new set of yoga cards on June 20. The event, dedicated to International Yoga Day, brought together yoga instructors, healthy lifestyle experts, intellectuals, public figures, and media representatives. The presentation aimed to raise awareness of yoga's role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, introduce new Azerbaijani-language publications on the subject, and contribute to improving the culture of health and well-being in society. The event was moderated by Mukhtar Sattarov, who outlined the objectives of the presentation. Gunel Rzayeva, Director of the Baku Book Center, congratulated the author on the publication of the new edition, highlighting the book's importance and the growing significance of yoga culture in society. Speaking at the event, author Vahid Novruzov said that Yoga and Health reflects more than 30 years of yoga practice, combined with extensive observation and research. He noted that the third edition contains additional references to classical yoga texts, a more detailed explanation of yoga's philosophical foundations, an updated selection of health-promoting asanas, and expanded guidance on their proper practice. Novruzov emphasized that the book is not merely a collection of physical exercises but a philosophy of life that supports physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. The publication explores a wide range of topics, including the effects of yoga on human health, proper breathing techniques, healthy nutrition, restoring inner balance, stress management, strengthening the immune system, building harmonious social relationships, and improving overall quality of life. Project author Afiga Bayramova presented the accompanying set of yoga cards, explaining that each card features an illustration of a specific asana on the front and detailed instructions on the reverse, including the correct technique, recommended duration, and practical tips. She said the project was designed to help yoga practitioners practice independently in any setting, reinforce their knowledge, and gain accessible educational information about healthy living. Renowned yoga instructors and other speakers at the event described Yoga and Health as one of the most comprehensive publications on yoga available in the Azerbaijani language, noting that it serves as a valuable resource for both beginners and experienced practitioners. The presentation concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which participants discussed the book's development, the future of yoga in Azerbaijan, and upcoming projects in the field.
