Book “Imadeddin Nasimi: I will not fit into this world” unveiled at Baku Book Center

The Baku Book Center hosted the presentation of the book “Imadeddin Nasimi: I Will Not Fit into This World” on March 17. The trilingual publication was produced with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The book was prepared at the initiative of project co-author Taleh Ziyadov and sponsored by the Georgian Wondernet Express Investment Group and Dmitry Abdushelishvili, with Maya Dzirkvelishvili serving as project manager. A special section of the publication, presented in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian, features 47 selected works by the renowned poet Imadeddin Nasimi. The book also includes newly uncovered insights into Nasimi’s life and personality, highlighting his significant contribution to Turkic poetics, particularly Azerbaijani literature, as well as the philosophical movement of Hurufism. In addition, it explores Nasimi’s philosophical ideas and contains articles on the development of science and culture during the era of the Shirvanshahs. Speaking at the event, Mamuka Murjikneli, a representative of Wondernet Express Investment Group, described the publication as an important achievement for Azerbaijani culture. Literary scholar Ilgar Fahmi, who actively contributed to the book’s compilation, noted that numerous projects and events dedicated to classical literature have been successfully implemented across Azerbaijan in recent years. Professor Saadat Shikhiyeva praised the publication as a significant contribution to preserving Nasimi’s legacy, emphasizing the exceptional quality of the edition. Project coordinator, historian Sabuhi Akhmedov, highlighted the extensive efforts made to promote Nasimi’s heritage, describing the book as a tribute to the great poet. The event concluded with musical performances, followed by a presentation of copies of the book to guests.
