The Baku Book Center on March 11  hosted the launch of “Əbədiyaşar sənətkar” (“Immortal Master”), a book dedicated to the memory of the renowned Azerbaijani musician and tar player Fikret Verdiyev. Speakers at the event highlighted his outstanding contribution to Azerbaijani culture and shared reflections on his rich artistic journey and enduring legacy. The evening’s artistic program featured performances by vocalists and mugham performers, including Samir Jafarov, Baimkhanim Veliyeva, Miralam Miralamov, Kamila Nabiyeva, and others. The book, compiled by the late musician’s wife, Baimkhanim Javanshirova-Verdiyeva, includes memoirs and photographs that reflect the life and work of Fikret Verdiyev, founder and artistic director of the Geygol and Neftchi music bands. The publication also features heartfelt tributes from the musician’s friends, family, and admirers.
