The presentation of national writer Maksud Ibrahimbeyov’s book “The Oil Boom Smiles at Everyone” took place at the Baku Book Center on December 19. The book has been published in Russian, Azerbaijani, and English. The event was held as part of a festival bearing the same name, dedicated to the writer’s 90th anniversary. This large-scale cultural project, organized by the Maksud Ibrahimbeyov Creativity Center with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, will continue until January 30, 2026. The evening opened with remarks by Gunel Anargizi, Director of the Baku Book Center. She was followed by the writer’s wife, Anna Ibrahimbeyova, who spoke in detail about the festival and the publication. Public figure Mikhail Gusman, along with Professor and Doctor of Philosophy Rena Ibrahimbeyova, shared their personal memories of the writer. The program concluded with an engaging lecture by Baku researcher Fuad Akhundov, who highlighted the profound impact of Azerbaijan’s oil boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries on Baku’s history, architecture, and socio-economic development.
