Baku Marks National Press Anniversary With Launch of Public Relations Textbook

A new textbook on public relations has been officially launched in Baku, as part of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press. The book, titled Fundamentals of Public Relations, is the result of a joint effort by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CERC) and Baku State University. Its unveiling took place on 15 July at the Baku Book Center. CERC Executive Director Vusal Gasimli described the publication as a “meaningful contribution” to the anniversary celebrations, adding that the book serves as both a practical guide for professionals and an educational tool for students. Rector of Baku State University, Elchin Babayev, also welcomed the publication, calling it a “noteworthy achievement” aligned with the spirit of the national press anniversary. The event was attended by a number of prominent figures, including members of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis and senior academics. Among them were Vugar Rahimzade, Head of Journalism at Baku Slavic University; political scientist Dr Hikmet Mammadov; Vugar Aliyev, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University; and Gulu Maharramli, Head of Multimedia and Electronic Communications at BSU. Edgar Jafarov, Deputy Director of Marketing at the International Bank of Azerbaijan, was also present.
The ceremony concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between CERC and Baku State University, marking a commitment to further collaboration in the field of communications and media.
