The Baku Book Center on December 17 hosted the presentation of the Anthology of Ukrainian Poetry titled "Oh, Beautiful, Unconquered Ukraine" along with the novel "Deravia: Quantum Leap" by young Ukrainian author Mikhail Gusev translated into Azerbaijani.
The event was organized as part of the project "New Horizons of Ukrainian Culture: Days of Literature," in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan and the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan.
Opening the event, Gunel Anargizi, the director of the Baku Book Center, expressed her gratitude to the organizers for this wonderful initiative.
The event was hosted by Salim Babullaoglu, the Secretary of the Union of Writers of Azerbaijan for International Relations and Translation Issues, and Ukrainian poet and literary critic Dmitry Drzodovsky.
In his speech, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Yuri Gusev, emphasized that the Azerbaijani and Ukrainian languages serve as a strong bridge of friendship between the two countries.The event also featured performances of piano music by Azerbaijani, Ukrainian, and European composers, as well as readings of poems included in the anthology. The organizers also presented awards to individuals who have significantly contributed to the development of cultural ties between the two nations.
