Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory Lala Huseynova on Feb. 19 delivered a speech entitled “Music: the common ground of tastes” within the second stage of the educational project “YÜKSƏL”, created on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Baku Book Center and supported by BP Azerbaijan.
 
The event was attended by students of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, the Baku Academy of Music and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art. At the beginning of the event, the participants of the YÜKSƏL project discussed various books on the development of creativity and creative thinking, donated to students by the Baku Book Center in previous lectures. The presenter dwelled on such themes as the influence of classical and modern musical forms on society, the lack of musical criticism in our country, serious scientific research and the transformation of music into the background of life.
 
L.Huseynova emphasized that family and society play a large role in shaping the musical taste of the younger generation. At the end of the event, the Baku Book Center presented students with books recommended by Lala Huseynova.
