Baku Book Center hosts literary evening organized by Latvian Embassy

The Baku Book Center on March 11 hosted a literary evening organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center as part of the FanatzEU Festival, which is supported by the Arts Council and the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
Elmira Mirzaeva, Advisor on Culture, Education and Economics of the Embassy of Latvia hosted the event, which featured the presentation of "The Seven Beauties of Nizami Ganjavi and Other Essays on Literature" book by the former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga and “The Caucasian Stories” book by the Latvian writer Ernests Birznieks-Upītis.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Azerbaijan Mr. Dainis Garanchs, Deputy head of the mission Viya Busha, deputy of the Milli Majlis Ganira Pashayeva spoke about the legacy of the great poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, about women characters in his poems.
Former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga joined the event via Zoom. Speaking about the book “The Caucasian Stories”, the rector of the West Caspian University Huseingulu Bagirov said that the book was translated into Azerbaijani with the support of the University's Publishing and Printing Center and is aimed to play a big role in deepening friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
