The UN Office in Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Baku Book Center on March 7 held a panel discussion on the topic "Eradicating gender bias and discrimination through policy and practice" on the occasion of International Women's Day. More than 50 representatives of governmental, international and public organizations attended the discussion dedicated to gender discrimination, gender prejudices, as well as effective international practices for solving these problems and strategies for their application in Azerbaijan. The keynote speakers at the panel discussion moderated by USAID Mission Director in Azerbaijan Jay Singh, featured UN Resident Coordinator Vladanka Andreeva, Director of the Baku Book Center Gunel Rzayeva, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Pauline Eizema, Director General of the APA Media Group Vusala Mahirgizi and Executive Director of “Ümidli Gələcək” organization Kamala Ashumova.

A documentary "Azerbaijani Erivan" was shown at the Baku Book Center on April 19. The event was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The film was created as part of the Fortis Films project by Fortis Construction company.
