A New Year performance for children "My Homeland Azerbaijan" was held at the Baku Book Center on Dec. 29. The performance was prepared by Children and Youth Development Center of No. 2 under the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and direction by Shahana Abbasli. Young participants of the School Theater and Children's Folk Dance circles of the Center showed a traditional fairy-tale and cartoon characters, as well as dances and songs of various ethnic minorities living in our country. In conclusion, pupils from the orphanages No. 1 of Nizami district and No. 3 of Khatai district of Baku, who attended the performance, were presented with New Year gifts on behalf of the Baku Book Center.

On September 20, the Baku Book Center hosted the launch ceremony for "A Grammar of Contemporary Azerbaijani," authored by Zhale Garibova, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), and Sabina Aliyeva, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics at AUL.
