The Baku Book Center on July 8 hosted an online seminar as part of the BP-sponsored “YÜKSƏL” educational project.
A webinar titled “Educational challenges and opportunities after the end of Coronavirus pandemic” by member of Azerbaijani Parliament Nigar Arpadarai focused on the advantages and features of online education and distance learning technologies in extreme pandemic conditions.
The presenter highlighted a wide range of issues, including the process of moving away from the previous education system, the emergence of alternative education.
She said that during the pandemic of the coronavirus infection, which is considered a threat to humanity, many countries switch to distance education to facilitate online learning.
In response to significant demand, it is necessary to introduce innovative approaches to the education system, and take steps to implement the distance learning model, she said.
“Azerbaijani youth should be open to such innovations, new challenges, adapt to reality, participate in introducing new technologies into education,” Nigar Arpadarai added.
Answering questions about what will education after the coronavirus pandemic look like, Nigar Arpadarai said that in the near future, the distance learning system will open up great opportunities for young people.
“In the new reality, universities will become think tanks, education will become an endless process, and our youth living in regions and villages will be able to listen to join the webinars by famous scientists working in other countries,” she said. In this regard, we should expand the scope of activities aimed at the development of digital skills.
More than 90 people attended a webinar by Nigar Arpadarai including students of the Baku State University, Azerbaijan Medical University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Baku Slavic University, as well as representatives of the student volunteer program "Bir" of the Ministry of Education.
Participants of the lecture can receive books recommended by Nigar Arpadarai at the Baku Book Center after the end of the quarantine regime by presenting student ID.
