The Baku Book Center on Sept. 23 hosted a long-awaited event with the participation of famous Azerbaijani singer, composer and honored artist of Azerbaijan Miri Yusif. The event was organized as part of the "Ulduzla oxu" ("Reading with celebrity") project.
Dozens of his fans, as well as visually impaired children came to the Baku Book Center to meet their favourite performer. During the event Miri Yusif answered questions from the audience, spoke of his favorite books and writers.
Miri Yusif was born on October 27, 1977 in Baku. He became known as a hip-hop singer in Azerbaijan's "Deirman" rock band, and then as a solo performer. With the beginning of a successful solo career, Miri Yusif started performing songs in the style of ethnic-jazz, reggae, chanson, R&B.

On September 20, the Baku Book Center hosted the launch ceremony for "A Grammar of Contemporary Azerbaijani," authored by Zhale Garibova, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), and Sabina Aliyeva, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics at AUL.
