The Baku Book Center on Oct. 14 hosted a meeting with the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, popular TV host Nargiz Jalilova.
The meeting was organized as part of the “Ulduzla oxu” project (“Reading with celebrity”).
During the event, Nargiz Jalilova held a master class on the topic “How do we speak?” and spoke about problems of preserving the purity of the Azerbaijani language.
Famous television journalist told about the role of television in people's lives, problems of modern Azerbaijani television, and how to make national television channels more interesting.
She noted that despite the increasing influence of social networks, they can never replace books, which combine educational and informational functions.
Focusing on the main requirements of the journalist and TV presenter profession, Nargiz Jalilova noted that these professions require high culture of speech and compliance with language norms.
Speaking about the importance of grammatically correct speech, Nargiz Jalilova dwelt on the factors influencing the preservation of the purity of the language, process of enrichment of the language, and the inadmissibility of violation of the norms of the literary language in mass media.
During the meeting, Nargiz Jalilova answered the numerous questions from the audience.
