A Music and Poetry night dedicated to female poets was held at the Baku Book Center on Nov. 28. The evening was organized by the FMG Women's Club and supported by the Baku Book Center. The event featured performances of Azerbaijani female poets and actresses who read world poetry.
Opening the evening, the director of the Baku Book Center, Gunel Rzayeva, expressed confidence that the event dedicated to female poetry would become a significant event in the cultural life of the Center.
The chairman of the FMG women's club, Aidan Mammadova, thanked the Center’s leadership for the opportunity to organize the event here.
Poet and philologist Aydan Handan, member of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan, poet Zahra Badalbeyli, People’s Artists of Azerbaijan Ayan Mirkasimova and Mehriban Zyaki, TV hosts Kamila Babayeva, Natella Kerimova and others read selected works from the world poetry.
Poems by Meskheti Ganjavi, Nigar Rafibeyli, Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, as well as a young and talented poet and painter, public activist Leyla Aliyeva were read at the event.
The music and poetry night also featured performance of the violin ensemble “Detashe” of the Baku Music Academy under the leadership of the People’s artist of Azerbaijan Zahra Guliyeva.
