The Baku Book Center on October 29 hosted the presentation of the republished book “The Dungeon” by writer, publicist Chingiz Alekperzade. The book includes two novels “The Dungeon” and “A place where the world collapses.”
“The place where the world collapses” novel is a continuation of the novel “The world collapses” (1933) by the national writer of Azerbaijan Abulgasan Alekperzade.
In her opening remarks, the Director of the Baku Book Center Gunel Anargizi expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the publication of the book.
The event was hosted by TV presenter Khadija Senangizi.
National writer Anar, national poet Ramiz Rovshan, Honored artist Gulshan Akbarova and others shared their memories of Chingiz Alekperzade, spoke about his contribution to Azerbaijani literature and his original journalistic style.
The event was also attended by ASAN radio director Emin Musavi, who read an excerpt from the prologue to the book “The Dungeon,” and Azerbaijan’s People’s Artist Mehriban Zaki, who performed poems by C. Alekperzade.
The event continued with musical performances by writer's daughters, famous jazz singers Emma Alekperzade and Sevda Alekperzade and the reading of the story by the writer’s granddaughter Saida Alekperzade.
The event ended with a pantomime performed by an actor of the State Pantomime Theater, Honored Artist Behruz Vagifoglu to the tune of the song “Salam, Allahım”.
