Baku Book Center hosts workshop on progressive parenting as part of BP-sponsored “YÜKSƏL” Project

The Baku Book Center on January 6 hosted a workshop on progressive and positive parenting by Head of Azerbaijani Women’s Association in the UK, social activist Ulviyya Taghizade.

 

Organized as part of the Baku Book Center’s new “YÜKSƏL” project sponsored by BP Azerbaijan, the workshop covered such issues as progressive positive parenting tools in child upbringing, myths and facts about parenting, building up a positive attachment with the child and the formation of a safe and interesting learning environment.

 

Giving an insight into the subject, Ulviyya Taghizade said that the progressive positive parenting project is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy developed by Dr. Aaron Beck, parenting workshops tools, emotion coaching, and attachment theory.

 

The presenter held interesting discussion with an audience addressing such important themes as the dependency of young children on gadgets and smartphones, a matter of choosing, encouragement and motivation of children.

 

The seminar also highlighted the secrets of using assertive discipline and emotion coaching, positive learning, new skills, and behaviors. During the workshop, U.Taghizade also covered several issues related to parenting problems, risk factors and communication problems. Young teachers from the Baku City Department of Education, child psychologists, as well as representatives of “Bir” Student Volunteer Program attended the seminar and were presented with books recommended by the presenter.
