The Baku Book Center on February 28 hosted the Romanian music and poetry evening dedicated to the Day of Spring and the “Martisor” holiday. The event was organized by the Embassy of Romania in Azerbaijan. "Martisor" is a traditional holiday of welcoming spring in Romania, which is celebrated on March 1. Students of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, employees of the Romanian Embassy attended the event. Director of the Baku Book Center Gunel Rzayeva, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Soare, People's Writer Anar spoke about the cultural ties between the two countries. Poet Salim Babullaoglu and the translator Zhalia Ismail read the poems of famous Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu in Azerbaijani. The audience warmly welcomed the performance of the popular Romanian music artist Mihai Napu.
