The Baku Book Center on October 22 hosted an award ceremony for the winner of the "Haiku on the Caspian Sea" international competition, Natavan Medjidova. The competition was organized by "Luch" literary and creative association under the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan. Doctor of Philology, Professor Tofig Melikli, poets Marat Shafiev and Salim Babullaoglu, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan Igor Yeronin, Cultural Counselor of the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan Taichi Ono, Russian scientist, Russian expert in Japanese culture Anna Egorova, artist Nigar Narimanbekova, Director of the Baku Book Cnter and others speakers at the event congratulated the winner and shared their thoughts on the philosophy and deep meaning of haiku poetry.

A documentary "Azerbaijani Erivan" was shown at the Baku Book Center on April 19. The event was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The film was created as part of the Fortis Films project by Fortis Construction company.
