On September 29, literary scholars Saadat Shikhyeva and Rafael Huseynov delivered lectures dedicated to the literary heritage of 14th-century Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi. The event was held at the Baku Book Center as part of the Nasimi Festival of Poetry, Art and Spirituality, which took place in Azerbaijan from September 27–30 under the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. Following the lectures, a Nasimi poetry evening was organized by the Khazar Poetry Club of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union. Participants of the evening, including Elser Gadri, Kamal Huseynzade, Nizami Mujahed, Vusala Mehri, Nijat Nesri, Rustam Tofig, and others, performed imitations (nazirs and tahmises) of Nasimi’s gazelles. The evening also featured the presentation of two poetry collections, “Thank You” and “Silence”, by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, public activist, and poetess, who read several of her poems at the event. Leyla Aliyeva’s collections include poems such as: “Wedding,” “Love People,” “My Secret Friend,” “The Lost Angel,” “Disappearance,” “Being Together,” “I Create,” “Falling Leaves,” “Sometimes They Just Fade,” “The Right to Live,” “Red Dress,” “Sun,” “Dreaming,” “Man,” “You Are to Blame,” “The Days Pass,” “Woman,” and many others.
