The Baku Book Center on Nov. 3 hosted author presentation and signing of a recently published book by writer and publicist Elmira Akhundova. The book is dedicated to the unforgettable captain of the “Guys from Baku” KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive) team, a former member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, public activist Anar Mammadkhanov.
Greeting the guests, the director of the Baku Book Center, Gunel Rzayeva, gave the floor to the famous showman Murad Dadashev, who briefly spoke about the book and shared memories of Anar with the audience. The author of the book, Elmira Akhundova, in turn, said that it contains memoirs of close friends, family members, colleagues of the legendary captain.
Writer Natig Rasulzade, actor, screenwriter and director Tair Imanov, Anar Mammadkhanov’s family members and other participants of the event spoke about the role he played in the life of Azerbaijani society, about his high sense of patriotism, love of life.
At the end of the event, Elmira Akhundova signed books for readers. Anar Mammadkhanov’s friends and members of the “Guys from Baku” club sang several well-known and beloved songs.
The book “Anar Mammadkhanov. The fate of the captain” released by the publishing house “Sharg-Gharb” in 2018, reflects the life and work of a famous public figure Anar Mammadkhanov.
The book tells about his childhood, his famous family, a sense of humor inherited from his grandmother, about the history of the creation of the “Guys from Baku” team, his activity in Azerbaijan’s Parliament as the youngest MP, about his passion for football, Internet, his kindness and generosity.
The book contains memories of Anar Mammadkhanov shared by his parents, his wife Irada, sister Naida, his classmates, friends, colleagues and team-mates, members of the Parliament, as well as famous culture and art personalities of Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia.
The book by Elmira Akhundova “Anar Mammadkhanov. The fate of the captain" is presented together with a small brochure entitled “Tales from Anar Mammadkhanov”, which contains witty and ironic stories, written by Anar.
