The Baku Book Center on Dec. 19 as part of the “Facing History” project hosted a meeting with notable Azerbaijani historian, well-known Azerbaijani politician and diplomat Hasan Hasanov.
 
During the meeting the author introduced his book titled “Alexander the Great and Atropat”, spoke about the content of this book and answered the numerous questions of the audience. 
 
Hasanov said that the book reflects the ancient history of Azerbaijan, namely, the periods of creation, fall and revival of the state of Azerbaijan. It covers the origin of the country, and also substantiates the concept that Azerbaijan emerged immediately after the collapse of the Assyrian Empire, in the 7th century BC. The book also highlights the personality of a prominent statesman of the ancient period, Atropat, and his collaboration with Alexander the Great.
 
At the end of the event, Hasanov signed his books for the participants of the event.
 
"Alexander of Macedon and Atropat" by Hasan Hasanov was published in 2017 by Russian publishing house "Вече" and in 2018 by TEAS in the Azerbaijani language.
