The presentation of the book “Yoga and Thought Power” in Azerbaijani by famous Indian guru and yogi Swami Sivananda took place at the Baku Book Center.
Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva is an author of the project, she also wrote a preface to the book.
Opening the event, director of the Baku Book Center, Gunel Rzayeva, stressed the importance and value of this book.
Honored artist of Azerbaijan Nargiz Jalilova introduced the guests of the evening. Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the Baku branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, head of the Republican Center for Humane Pedagogy, Riza Khalilov, Ambassador of India to Azerbaijan, Mr. Vanlalavavn and representative of the Swami Sivananda Yoga School Elchin Guliyev spoke about the philosophy of yoga, the benefits and eating habits of people practicing yoga, the right lifestyle, the effectiveness of yoga in the treatment of many diseases.
In the artistic part of the event students of Elchin Guliyev presented various yogic asanas and breathing exercises.
Swami Sivananda was a Hindu spiritual teacher and a proponent of Yoga and Vedanta. He was the founder of the Divine Life Society (DLS) and author of over 200 books on yoga, Vedanta, and a variety of subjects.
Sivananda Yoga, the yoga form propagated by his disciple Vishnudevananda, is now spread in many parts of the world through Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres.
His book “Yoga and Thought Power”, which describes various aspects of the philosophy and practice of yoga, has been translated into many languages . The book covers the doctrine of the power of thought, with the benefits of yoga practices and nutrition in yoga and reveals methods of mind control.
