A tribute to the People’s poet, playwright Vagif Samadoglu was held June 8 at the Baku Book Center. The event featured Azerbaijani writers Anar, Elmira Akhundova, poet Ramiz Rovshan, director Ramiz Hasanoglu, famous TV presenters Rafig Hashimov and Nargiz Jalilova, who shared their memories of the favorite poet. Speakers emphasized that as one of the brightest poets of the Sixties, Vagif Samadoglu made huge contribution to the Azerbaijani literature. Famous actors Fahraddin Manafov, Mehriban Zeki, Kamran Yunis read poems by V. Samadoglu. The program also included vocal and instrumental performances by pianists Salman Gambarov, Murad Huseynov, Farida Huseynova and singers Arzu Rzayev and Zabita Aliyeva. The guests of the evening also watched photos from Vagif Samadoglu’s archive.
