The Baku Book Center on Jan. 30 hosted a meeting with national poet of Azerbaijan Vahid Aziz. The meeting was organized by the Public Association "İRƏLİ" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan. The event was held as part of the “MədəniyyətimİZ” project in partnership with the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and was dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day, which is celebrated on Feb.2. Project coordinator Riad Jabrailov, who opened the event, said that educational and interactive meetings with cultural figures are regularly held as part of the project. Poet Vahid Aziz spoke about his memories of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the directions of development of Azerbaijani literature, and modern trends in the culture industry. The musical part of the event featured songs written to the lyrics by Vahid Aziz, performed by musicians Jalal Samedov, Sanan Rafaeloglu and singer Rovshana Kerimdukht.

The Baku Book Сenter on May 2 hosted the presentation of “Azim Azimzade” art book published by National Art Museum of Azerbaijan. The book covers paintings by Azim Azimzade, outstanding artist, founder of Azerbaijani satirical graphics. The editor and author of the book is Professor of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts Chingiz Farzaliyev.

A documentary "Azerbaijani Erivan" was shown at the Baku Book Center on April 19. The event was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The film was created as part of the Fortis Films project by Fortis Construction company.
